RAD RIPPER LIGHT SPEED

RAD RIPPER is the latest addition to our "Post Modern Retro" collection.   A direct spin-off from the Retro Ripper, but scaled down for small, sub-par, everyday surf.

Starting with the Retro Ripper, I lowered the entry rocker a bit (for quick paddling, early entry, easy planing, and speed right off the bat) and replaced the round tail, which controls speed, with a wide, planing squash tail.   Plenty of lift and surface area for small surf.   As a child of 80s surf, I was always enamored with the user-friendliness of the high-performance shortboards of that era.   The RAD RIPPER retains a remarkably healthy amount of tail rocker, cut by an aggressive double concave, adding even more lift and spray under the back foot.

Super fast, forgiving, and user-friendly retro fun, with modern updates and improvements, suitable for almost everyone.

Key features include:

•   Flat and stable deck, with soft, steep, and dropped rails.

•   Slight V in the nose (to free up low rocker) into a single   shallow concave , into a deep double concave to V, for both speed and control.

•   Wide and stable squash tail, slides over anything and maintains speed in turns, even in small summer slopes.

•   Forward-thickness flow, with a wedged "beak" nose, for riding and paddling capability.
