NECK BEARD 2 SPINE-TEK

The Neck Beard 2 surfboard was born under the motto "When something's not broken, you don't need to fix it." That said, Britt Merrick and Dane Reynolds still believed that a few small refinements would make an already epic board much better. And it did: the merits of this update can be seen in Dane's new surf film “The Electric Acid Surfboard Test.”

A big fan of the single concave, Dane asked Britt to remove the V from the original Neck Beard, creating a single throughout. This changed the rocker landscape somewhat, but in a very positive way, improving wave entry, down-the-line speed, and overall control. They also widened the tail by 1/2” and added a slight hip, resulting in more responsiveness and maneuverability.

Dane prefers the Neck Beard 2 as a tri-fin, but those who like quads may notice increased down-the-line speed. It comes with a five-fin setup to get the best of both worlds.
