The Mid is a surfboard that excels in flatter and smaller waves. The CI Mid is a classic yet modern design born from the collaboration of Channel Islands Surfboards with Devon Howard, a Californian surfer who has spent the last few years perfecting this type of mid-length surfboard.

Al Merrick's CI Mid is inspired by the egg surfboard and single fins. Featuring a moderate mid-length shape with a low entry rocker and forward volume for easy paddling, the CI Mid glides, flows, and turns thanks to its double concave, gradual rocker, and hard, slightly tucked edges in the tail area.

This surfboard features the minimalist and retro logo that Al Merrick placed on his surfboards in the early 1970s.

This is an all-rounder surfboard that excels in flatter and smaller waves up to double overhead, where surfers are able to perform smooth, arcing turns with confidence, speed, and control.

The Al Merrick CI Mid is a super versatile surfboard and performs well in fast, vertical waves. During the surfboard's development, the Channel Islands team tested the CI Mid in waves over 2 meters at Honolua Bay and were thrilled with the result.
